Registration is open for the inaugural Vermont’s Kid Governor® program! Click the button below to register your 2025-26 5th grade class for our free civic education program and the fall 2025 Statewide Election. It takes less than 2 minutes!

Registered teachers will receive our free lesson plans and digital resources. We want all fifth graders to have a voice and a vote in the upcoming election to determine who will serve as our state’s 2025 Kid Governor!

Office of the Vermont Secretary of State launches Vermont’s Kid Governor® program

Vermont Secretary of State Sarah Copeland Hanzas announced today that her office will be bringing a national civic education initiative, Kid Governor®, to Vermont this year. Kid Governor® is a free program that teaches fifth-grade students about state government, voting, and the importance of civic engagement through an authentic election for their state’s Kid Governor. The program will debut during the 2025-26 school year, with its first election in November 2025.
